Indo Shag
A potent yet reasonably mild, light colored, SYO friendly medium-length shag. The packages "Amsterdam Blend" label is misleading, its not a Dutch style halfzware. Indo Shag's unique smell/taste is probably the Javanese tobacco more than any flavorings/aromatics (its subtle and tame when compared to Butterfly). Interesting when added to a blend. By itself its bitter and not what I would call a good smoke. Made in Indonesia. Pouches (small - .75oz/21g) only. ~$19LB

I did not like this tobacco, it is very different from other tobacco in my experience. I stuffed one cig, lit it, and 4 drags later butted it. It is still sitting in my ashtray. For Reference, my favorites are Bali Shag, 3 Castles, and PS Turkish and Danish.

I just got a pouch today, and this stuff is mild. I've smoked ultra lights which are stronger than unfiltered Indo Shag. I would only recommend this if you want to smoke the lightest tobacco, or if you want to even out some harsher tobaccos.

This stuff isn't bad once it is rehydrated. My pouch was dry as gunpoder, extremely bitter and harsh. So I placed it in tupperware with a couple of slices of lime overnight, and once hydrated it is a totally different animal - smooth, mild, probably a little too mild for me. Nice subdued taste, clean burning. I like it but wish it were a bit stouter.

This has a very intriguing aroma and taste. But can soon become cloying. It is medium/full in strength. It might add zip in very small amounts to a halfzware. I couldn't see mixing it with anything else like straight Burley or Virginia. but it is still on the market so someone must like it.
