ARBRO Inc.

...ARBRO is gone.
Parts and warranty service for Premier machines is now being handled by ARBRO Inc. CTC USA has closed its doors. CTC/Premier product distribution is now handled by Robert Burton Associates (the US arm of Imperial Tobacco - the folks who bought CTC).

re: secret agent technician with whom I was invited to speak:
"The new Supermatic cutter is expected to eliminate the need for dissasembly/cleaning"
and Wazmo, the H-Link is designed to work together with the new cutter, so you may want to go ahead....
SO THERE!

2 Supermatics (as previously reported)
500 series, which is USA edition, continues to use (possibly) inferior aluminum cutter, however is interchangeable with Supermatic 2.
also has an h-link, shaft, bushing, and bushing nut that will not interchange with the B-series, which are the Canadian machines. (according to Arbro)
I was unable to obtain the answers/reasons for differing parts although none are considered superior to each-other with the exception of the new H-link for the B-series(?) which I had to tell the girl about, hang up, look at Wazmo's post, and call back...yup, it's for real.....and the new cutter (again, for the B-series) which is an upgrade/mod.....I couldn't afford a Topomatic, and as yet haven't written Republic to bitch and ask for credit so this was how I decided to keep playing Cowboys and Indians with Mike SR! I don't use a "mod-minder" as I always remember to take my mods.

Can't say enough good things about Arbro. Kind and curteous, orders delivered in a timely fashion. I hope these folks become millionaires by this SYO boom.

I BOUGHT AN EXCEL MACHINE 2 MONTHS AGO, AND THE TUBE HOLDER CRACKED ON IT. I COULD NOT GET REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR IT SO I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT ANOTHER MACHINE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO ORDER PARTS FOR BOTH OF THEM. WHAT ARE THE CURRENT GUARRENTEES ON THEM. PREVIOUS TO THESE TWO MACHINES I HAD BOUGHT A PREMIER SUPERMATIC ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO WHICH WON'T WORK AT ALL. WHY DO I HAVE TO KEEP BUYING MACHINES? DO THEY ALL HAVE PROBLEMS WITHIN A FEW MONTHS? I'M REALLY NOT HAPPY WITH ANY OF THESE MACHINES BUT UNFORTUNATELY THESE ARE ALL THEY SELL IN OUR AREA.

Don't buy another machine. You can order parts online at Arbro (link above). If you have problems reading the parts guide, call them and I'm certain they will help you. Five bucks for shipping and the price for parts is neglible. When ordering spare parts, you might want to order two of whatever you broke because you'll probably break them again. Supermatic out of the box needs to be oiled and tightened. If you are not mechanically inclined, have your husband or mechanically inclined friend look at it. It's a simple machine and once you get it working properly, you'll be amazed at its durability. I'm using the Excel when the Supermatic breaks down (excessive use because I'm stuffing for two). Even it is a solid machine but not half the machine the Supermatic is.

ARBRO INC, George and his young assistant are great. Within 1 week of ordering a lot of parts to fix multiple machines, all of my parts arrived. George and his assistant are wonderful to deal with on the phone. Both are knowlegable and very courtious. I now have 2 working machines that are better than new.
