Plain tube, no filter. Tim Aydt: Made by CTC...cheap looking tubes, stamped right in the middle with the green Excel logo low ~$2.00 per 500.

I was reading about these tubes on RYO mag [link] and it said that they had been discontinued, but "Keep in mind that there are still Excel tubes currently available in inventory, but they won't last much longer." I don't know how long ago that was written, though the posts about them here are ancient. I would like to try a filterless tube, but the Athey sounds like the paper is thicker than I would prefer, so I would like to find some Excel tubes. Does anyone know if anybody still has any of these in their inventory, or are they long gone?

Made by CTC, these tubes come in a box of 500 for under $3.00. These cheap looking tubes, stamped right in the middle with the green Excel logo, seem to impart no flavor to your smoke. I was surprised at how mild a blend, I normally smoke in a light tube, could be in a filter-less tube. I really expected to begin coughing and turn green before I could finish one. Yet, even one stuffed only with Drum, made a pleasant smoke.
