The El Rey hand injector

The El Rey hand injectorPosted by Tom Suttie on Monday, 20-Aug-2007
I have been using the hand held EL REY injector now for over five years, and having used other hand helds in the meantime, I can unreservedly give the EL REY top marks.

It is very well made, and with only one moving part, is very reliable. I suppose we all aspire to a crank machine (Supermatic, Excel etc), but in the meantime the EL REY must be one of the best HH's on the market - or even for permanent use.

EFKA (Germany) are the makers, and I think that they have now been taken over by Imperial Tobacco, so should be available in U.S.A. The site Roll-Up U.K. has a photograph [link] of this machine in its smart blue & cream livery.

they have since changed the style of the El Rey injector and it is no longer the quality machine it used to be. I would not recommend it to anyone. I have used the old style for 16 years and thought it the best handheld on the market. The new style is a copy of another brand and is hard to work; if one uses the entire length of travel on it it breaks the tube about 1/4 of an inch from the end. When sliding if you are not VERY careful the top and bottom will disengage and the the tube is only partially filled.

hey Tom, I'm really impressed that you've got a 5 year resume
we have previously concluded (at least I have) that your El Rey is indeed of the best...BUT!!!!
I have a Rizla De Luxe HH, that is made in Germany, and for some reason seems to be extremely rare, and wonder if you have seen or used this one, and if so, how it compares???
at any rate, I would love to find someone to help me put a pic up since Dave is doing that, think I'll consider this again.....and yes, the El Rey has invaded the USA

Mike c, I used to have a small blue Rizla HH years ago but it broke.
I can't remember how it performed, but it can't have been that good or I would have got another!

I have been using the ElRey for over 10 years now and am only on my second machine! I make around 20 - 25 cigarettes a day so that is a LOT of ciggies over the years. I have many friends that are wanting an ElRey but, it seems quite impossible to get them in the UK for some unknown reason. I'm lucky enough to have a spare one which I bought a few years ago off ebay so I'm OK for a good 5 years or so :0) Can you still get them johnnie crossman? I have looked on your site and they are no longer there!
