McClintock Full Flavor Tubes
Posted by scott johnson on Friday, 20-Oct-2006

I am trying these out for the first time. They seem to me to have the 15mm filter element. I had to switch back to a full length spoon in my Excel in order to fully fill these. (I normally use a spoon shortened 3mm for use with 20mm filtered tubes.)
They stuff very easily with properly dried tobacco and stuff ok with slightly moist tobacco. They seem to smoke very neutral without any taste of their own being added to the tobacco.
I can't tell what company has made them. the construction of the box and tube does not resemble CTC or St. Vincent products.

I think these are very nice menthol tubes. I just have a hard time finding them locally.

Review: McClintock Tubes
Posted by Kurt Wall on Tuesday, 27-Apr-2004

I've smoked a couple of packs of these tubes, and I'm pleased.

These are full flabor tubes with a cork tip. The tube itself is plain, sporting a red McClintock logo at the cork tip end but no other adornment. I believe it is safe to conclude they are *not* made by CTC, as they lack what Dave (our host) refers to as CTC's "trademark dimple/crease."

I can't tell if the filter tip is spot-glued or if the filter wrapper is glued all the way around, but I haven't had any trouble with the wrapper separating from the filter. I think this might be because the filter wrapper is tighter on the filter than I've seen with other, lower-quality tubes.

The paper stays out of the way of the tobacco, so you taste the tobacco rather than the paper. All of the tubes have offset seams, so that the seams for the filter wrapper and tube itself don't form a lump on your lips.

In short, the McClintock tube seems like a sturdy, middle-of-the-road tube. I recommend them, especially at the price RYO Cigarettes had them on closeout. I might buy some more before the special ends.

I see McClintock (a Peter Stockebye product) is now making a light tube( seen 12-23-04) at http://www.ryocigarette.com/mametuboxof1.html
for $1.39 a box! They sure are winners of the 1/2 to full case tube buyer for the lowest prices, please let us know here when someone trys 'em out compared to escort & silvertip.
