Has anyone ordered direct from Stoker? I received a catalog today - Stoker #1, #2 & #117 varies in price from $12.25 to $13.00 per lb depending upon the quantity. Shipping is a flat $6.50 and there's a TN tax but I assume that's only for residents (I plan to verify). They carry Bali Shag (halfzware & golden), Samson, Roll Rich, Jester and several others along with cigars, chewing tobacco, pipes, etc.

THIS COMPANY IS EXCELLENT. Never ever have i had a problem with them, and that has been more then 10 years so far.

although the catalogs list mostly chew forms, the pipe tobacco and roll your own cigs pages are great in what they carry... Their prices are pretty hard to beat. If you do know of pipe tobacco cheeper someplace else please do write to me where and how to contact the sales rep. they do send full pounds, and sell at 1, 3, 5, and 10 lb. packs of the custom blends. They also carry a wide supply of the news stand/drug store type blends like middletons, sir walter, sail, borkum riff, smokers blend... below what I have found from other places... They are however not carrying much of the tinned can European/ specialty blends... For those I deal with a J.R. cigar out of Carolina. They sell these cans well below what is out there via retail vendors. jrcigars.com 1-800-574-3576 ask for a catalog. They are mostly a cigar company whose JR branded cigars are as good as the named brand versions due to some old timers who love cigars, love what they do buying from the growers and the factories direct. But over the years they also have developed a pretty good relationship with the companies who produce the tinned pipe products, though sometimes due to distribution agreements, they must also buy from the only licensed U.S. distributers like dunhill, and astor, and kretek international...still great prices overall. and they also carry the drug store brands.. Been dealing with them for many years, no complaints or problems... the sales reps are very friendly.

after finishing the above review, I called Stokers to place a new order. Only to learn that as of June 2010 they were forced to go out of business by that new Obama tobacco tax bill.
In it was a provision stating that all retail smokeless tobacco sales now must be face to face sales only. As the vast amount of their business was catalog sales, or phone sales, and since over 3/4 of their business was smokeless chew snuff, and roll your own cig sales are now illegal, the small remaining pipe tobacco business could not keep the doors open... I am so sad to see that they are gone...
I am now forced to try to find a sales point to try to purchase custom blended tobacco in semi bulk lots. Like 1 pound, 5 lb and 10 lb sizes like I was purchasing from Stokers. Could anyone please point me in the right direction. They had to be buying from someone... and there must be other retail/semi wholesale businesses that I could turn to... Other then depending on the two local retailers and what small amounts they carry, and the added markup they charge, and the my having to drive to them only to find they do not have what I need at the time that I need it...

Has anyone located a retail distributor for Stokers chewing tobacco, specifically looking for L-50 in the North Texas/OK area since North Atlantic Trading Company bought out Fred Stokers? I have found a few shops that carry the Original and Peach, but really not interested in those.

I just ran across Stokers branch chew visiting family in Southern Indiana (I live in Austin, TX.) I tried the Apple and Peach just for something different, but my favorite brand of chew is Redman and Redman Golden Blend since I can get it just about anywhere.

I've been trying to find some descriptive info on what the other Stoker brands are like relative to Redman since Stoker's is so much cheaper, but there doesn't seem to be anything on the Internet. I've seen Stoker's 24C, 24M, and the L50 you mentioned at the Discount Tobacco shops here in Southern Indiana.
I tried to look up the parent company contact information, but they appear to mix their contact info for their different products. One of these phone numbers might yield info on Texas point of sale.

Well, if they have been out of business since 2010, where is my father getting his stoker's 24-C? He's never been without it. Never. BUT, now, I'm online trying to find him another supplier. He lost connection with his first....Oh I think I know, my cousin has been getting it for him somewhere, like OK, or LA. or something. Face to Face sales, I guess. However, that is getting hard to pull off due to my cousin's changing directions in life...anyway, I'm trying to find it on line,......no, I remember now, he's been getting it shipped UPS for years. SOMETIMES my cousin would get it for him...so, where can I find it now, to get it delivered by UPS? If anyone has this knowledge, and will share, please email me, I may not be back to this site. thanks!

I ordered from them back in the 90's, both dip, nasal snuff and cigerette and pipe tobacco. Back then you had to fax them a copy of your ID to verify age. They were incredibly nice to deal with, good products/shipping and consistently very good getting your order correct and always threw in a freebie. Loved their moist snuff and pipe tobacco. I hear they went out of business in 2010 due to the new law concerning mail order tobacco products...which don't make sense to me since I order all I want today from Northerner with no hassle...?

I've also read that Zig-Zag bought them (don't remember the actual company name that bought them) but would really appreciate the web link or address to get a catalog. If it helps Northerner also carry's Stokers chew and snuff. I just got two buckets of straight and wintergreen fine cut moist snuff by Stokers from them and the quality hasn't changed one bit from years ago and still a great price: One bucket = 10 cans for $9.90 and includes a free plastic snuff can. Hope this helps. ( I highly recommend Northerner to everyone that wants to buy snuff, snus, and chew online. Been buying from them for over a year with no complaints on my part. Copenhagen wintergreen $2.90/can and dated fresh until Jun 2012, got this order yesterday.) Again, contact info for Stokers would be appreciated!
