How Many?

AllTALL asked: How many packs, or cigarettes, do you usually get out of a 14oz bag of Windsail?
Its been asked a few times so here are some links (I've never counted):
1oz = 25-30 sticks [link]
1oz = 30 +/- sticks, 6oz = 8-9 packs [link]
14oz = 2+ cartons [link]

I've been MYO for about 6 months using a Top O Matic, D&R Wingate Gold and Premier 100MM lite tubes. Twice I've done a count to see how using the longer tubes affects the number I get from each 14 oz bag. The first time I made 375, the second time I made 379.

Thanks for the answers. I got to wondering how it all really works out financially in the end. My regular bacca is Farmers golden leaf. I received a windsail sample that tasted very similar. Not too surprising since when the girl at D&R was trying to decide which sample to send me she asked what I smoked. So it was an intentional attempt to sort of match what I was accustom to. As it worked out, the Windsail was what FGL light SHOULD have been. The FF is fine, but the FGL light is not so hot. Anyway, since the FF and the Windsail are so close in taste I began to consider the cost. I pay $4.75 including tax for a 6 oz bag at the coner store. The Windsail with postage is considerably higher. But, it dawn on me that maybe it was not as straight forward as it sounds. One drawback of FGL is a fair amount of shake in the bag. And you have to watch the moister level are you can wind up with a whole lot of shake. Basically I normally wind up with 6 to 7 packs of smokes out of the FGL. If the Windsail gets a full 2 cartons out of the 14 oz then the difference in price is really very small in the long run.

I went ahead and ordered a few bags of Windsail and will see how it works out for me. It seems a bit smoother than the FGL, but I need to smoke more than what came in the sample to gain a firm point of view on the stuff.

I remember when I used to buy the 1oz pouches I would get 30+ sticks. (generally 32-34) depending. I usually buy 2 bags from D&R and 5 cartons of tubes. It's real close on that second bag where sometimes I have need to start a 6'th carton.
