Three Castles and Laramie
Two of the new St Vincent made (in the Philippines) tubes. The FF have relatively standard 17mm filters and the LF have slightly longer 20mm filters.

I love these tubes just tried them last night for the first time. I have been using Vera Cruz exclusively after reading RYO mags review basically since I started MYO and these are MUCH better tubes. I injected London Export into one of these for my first try and it was SO much better than Vera Cruz tubes. I guess for the first time I actually got to taste the tobacco only without it being overridden by the tube. I am ordering some Rizla and Mascotte tubes from D & R because little did I know what I was missing and that tube selection would make such a big difference in the experience. Three Castles will definitely be a regular choice from now on.

I have been smoking these for about a week now and I could see making them my regular tube. I have some problems using them on the Excel injector. It seems to push the tube off due to the spoon hitting the filter and leaving gaps at filter end. I suppose if you have a surematic and do your spoon adjustment thingy you could solve that problem. They work well on my hand injector, although sometimes the ends get a bit torn. I tried a little taste test using D&R Old Timer Gold in Rizla, Charbon and Three Castles tubes. I'd say it definetly smoother then the Rizla but the Charbon tube seemed a bit mellower then the 3Castle.

I would not put it in the catagory of a light tube I think mild is a good description. They seem pretty well made I don't think they have the full glue around the filter , but the filters aren't loose in the paper. maybe four or five out of twenty wouldn't fit on the Excel.
Hope that helps

D&R Two Timer not Old Timer- Re: Three Castle

Thank you for the reply. I am using this tube with D&R Vengeur Light. It is a good match. I have to agree with the occasional split ends on some of the tubes. I only have a hand Injector for now but it works...

I didn't like either of these brands at all. I was hoping one of them would take over as my new tube, but was very disapointed in both. It's strange that the tubes seem to have the circular rings of the full cicumfrence glue, but often times they'll have the same seperation isues that many others have. They don't taste that great, and the longer filter really doesn't make it that light because of the filter seperation. The shield on the three castles is cool, and the laramies make me laugh because of The Simpsons, but other than that, these tubes are crapola.

These tubes have made me very upset. Poorly constructed, poor quality control. I have tossed out 1 out of every 4 that i have made. Either the tube isn't mated to the filter properly or the open end is rolled too small to go onto my Excel injector. I bought these in both lite and FF. With the ones that did inject, they were fine. nothing out of the ordinary. but I can't see buying these again. They come from the same factory as ZEN, but must have been made on another machine or something.

I always have a couple boxes of ZEN tubes here as they are one of my favorites. Being from the same factory, I thought they would be close to the same as ZEN. Actually, far from it.

I found the Three Castles to be really nice tubes. A few were a bit snug on the blue supermatic, but they still went on the nozzle with a bit of coaxing. I had no defects in the first box I stuffed, not did I tear a single tube.

The true test is how they smoke, and these are top quality. No weird or funny tastes. I tried only the full flavor, and I would say these are about the fullest flavor of any tube I have tried. These draw so incredibly easy, and I am guessing its because the filter is a lower density than average. It did make my regular menthol blend a lot more potent than normal, but after a few sticks I quickly got used to them.
Overall, I'd rate them right up there with Rizla, and I will definitely be ordering more of these.

Lil Brown has these, haven't saw anything posted on them. Very nicely made, classy logo, excellent draw, with little or no filter separation. My favorite tube I've tried so far. I like them a little better than McClintock, and much better than Zig Zag or Premier. Don't have a clue who makes them.
