Hello Everybody.....

I got 2X 6 oz tins, for $5 each at $1 off each tin normally $6 each. It was a nice fine cut and fairly clean tabbco, and smoked very nice as well. I looked online and all the prices for tins, cost more then my local shop. I'm wondering why they do, I also noticed that primer tubes are only $1.44 per box locally.
While online they cost more plus shipping, so far I can buy the tins and tubes cheaper locally. I took note that the tin, while having less tabbco 12 oz then a 1 lb bag. The tins had almost no shake, while the 1 lb gab has a lot of shake. Plus the tin did not dry out, like the 1 lb bags do on me.
I was worried the tins finer cut, would be hard to inject into tubes. But that was not the case at all, it injects into the tube much better. So this all kind of shocked me, but I may well start buying tins. But I'm wondering if others, found tins to be the same way as I did. And if a good light fine cut tabbco tins could be found at a good price some place on line ?- Re: I liked southern cross light tin

Sounds like you get excellent prices at your local shop. I can't even find decent RYO/SYO stuff locally, except Bugler and Top (the horror.. the horror...) and the occasional Drum. And I live in Georgia. The first store I ever found a decent selection in was J&R in North Carolina, off of I-95, and they are a tobacco superstore that sells low tax tobacco to travelers. Their prices compared to Little Brown smoke shop.

I don't know where you live, but consider your self lucky, you seem to have low low prices. (want to start an Internet business? :) )
As for cans versus bags, I always find canned or tinned to be in better shape, considering that it has to be shipped and is probably not handled too gently. Unless a tobacco is much cheaper bagged, I opt for the tins.
I am facing that dilemma now. I loved the tin of Auld Kendal I got for $6 at 50gram, and would like to buy more. A pound bag of it is $30. (half the price of tinned) I want a pound, but I also want it in the pristine condition that it was in when it came tinned. With high end tobacco like this, money matters. To me anyway.
