Turkish Special
A Turkish blend from G.A. Andron. RYO Magazine: Though the flavor is not very oriental, it is truly wonderful. Long cut and golden brown Bob: no more 'turkish' than the sagamore light! light & toasty!. Low ~$14lb.

Unlike the proprietor of RYO Magazine, who really likes Turkish Special, I found it to be of low quality and unpleasant flavor. My bucket was dried-out, with an uneven coarse cut, and laced with stems. I tried it because I used to enjoy the Balkan Sobranie brand, and an occasional Ramback. Turkish Special is not even close to those, and it's generous to describe it as "Turkish". You get what you pay for.

My husband and I roll our own cigarettes and we have been buying the 5lb buckets of Turkish special. Our local store is having a hard time reordering this product. Is there anyplace that I can order on-line and have it shipped to my house? If so, how much is it and where do i go to order it?

Ziggymart.com (on the Retailers page) is the only place I know (~$90 shipped) [May-04: ryotobacco.com also has it, about $10 more]. I should mention that Bob said the bucket he got was pretty dry (not unusual when you buy stuff from Ziggymart)...Looks like shipping is free if you buy 2.
