H&R
A good inexpensive tobacco. A pretty clean blend. Medium/fine cut, medium length strand, a bit to much of the overly short stuff (excessive handling?). Similar to the popular Stoker brands. Low ~$10lb.

H&R tobacco

has been discontinued at Lil Brown.- Re: H&R tobacco

Seems like H&R has been taken off the market or the company just went bankrupt. Lil Brown doesn't carry it anymore and neither does Smokertown. Has anyone found out what the story is with H&R? I really like the mildness and flavor of it.

There were a couple of shops that use to carry it and I don't see it there either. Seems like they've disappeared over the past year.

I read alot of the comments on here about H&R, so I decided to try some. I bought the Light at 10.50/lb. from Lil Brown.

If you are on a tight budget (like me), this is an excellent, smooth smoke. It stuffs nice, especially in a hand injector.. which I use.
I thought I'd just comment on the fact that the H&R Light is a really good, mellow, smooth tobacco.

I tried the H&R Regular after reading up on it here, and was quite pleased. Even a friend, who has been sampling a smoke each time I try new tobaccos, and has been picky, was pleased with it.

I was a bit hesitant as some people here had given the thumbs up to Golden Harvest, which I thought was terrible.
Nothing fancy or exotic about the H&R, but for now it has become my regular, inexpensive blend of choice.

I just bought a bag of H&R full flavor. It is a bit too dry, but it is perfectly smokable. It is very mild and inoffensive, a bit of a boring tobacco. Not bad, not great but perfectly smokable. Anyone know what all kinds of tobaccos are in this blend? I am still a bit new to the myo tobacco world and am still trying to learn about tobaccos and blends.

I have been smoking the H&R in zen light tubes. I am thinking I might make this my main smoke while buying smaller quantities of other tobaccos to try out. I will also have to check out the H&R light.

TREAT YOURSELF!!! When you can afford it treat yourself & try some Peter Stockkebye DANISH EXPORT from the cheapest source I can find is lil brown smoke shack.

I have found this along with McClintock Virginia & Bali shag (red can virginian) among the best tobaccos available & all are Peter Stockkebye owned brand names imported from Denmark.
So next time you order & can afford it I KNOW you will be PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by how smooth & good these are & maybe as myself you will even find yourself smoking less.

Give the H & R light a try, pretty good for a cheap tobacco. But, I spluged and tryed the new Bali Shag Smooth Virgina. No comparison between the H & R and Bali. Bali is awesome tobacco, just wish I could afford a rolling tobacco that cost around 3.00 per pack. The 16 oz H & R is a great value.

So far H&R regular is still my main smoke. For a cheap tobacco its quite good. I would give it a try. Especialy if your funds are tight. I would sugest ordering it from lil brown. The only complaint I have is that H&R stopped including a free metal cigarette case with the tobacco. I usualy carry my smokes in one of those cases.

I smoked a 6 ounce bag of H&R Light tobacco and found it to be a very smooth, clean tobacco. I could easily smoke this everyday without blending with other tobacco's. At $9.45 a pound from Lil Brown, I have already ordered one pound and will probably switch from using Stoker's #2

I'm on my fifth pound of this stuff so far. My wife even likes it as a base for her blends. I agree that it is slightly dry, but not so much that it becomes unsmokable before I go through a pound. Also, most of the tobaccos that I blend into it are a little too moist, so it balances out. It also works great in a Premier Supermatic. Top notch.

Tim, next time you order from Lil Brown, get a small bag of Peoples Pride. I was smoking H&R until I tried "PP". It's a little more moist so you'll have to let it dry. I believe it's around $11.45 a pound.

Thanks Kevin, I pick up something new, that has been recommended on this site, with almost every order. A couple of orders ago I tried Peoples Pride. It's a good tobacco, I just prefer the H & R. I didn't post anything on it because I didn't have anything to say beyond what others had already said, but it is pretty good.

I ordered some H&R LIGHT just to give it a try as my favorites are McClintock Virginia-bali red/D&R's Three Sails & some Jester every now & then.

For the low price I found this to be good grade of tobacco-a little to dry as shown by the powdery 'shake' in the bag that really bugs me when its down to the bottom whats left is UNusable, a little more moisture at the time of packaging would be in order; You would think the manufacturer WOULD KNOW THIS! No cheap tastes with H&R light & I found it to be on the level of the Sagamore line without the light Turkish component that the sagamore has. It injected very well with the supermatic using el rey & escort tubes.
I think that this tobacco will only get better as its sales grows & consumer input is received.
Anyone just starting in the MYO/SYO or cant afford anything more costly would be very pleased with the light & tasty quality & COST this of tobacco & be on the road of finding what ALL is available in the MYO world. Enjoy!
