Tobacco Stips: Fresh Choice
Posted by mrm3601 on Friday, 15-Apr-2011
Hello.
Has anyone tried myo/syo with Fresh Choice "Natural Tobacco Strips" (www.freshchoicetobacco.com)?
Also, they sell a tobacco shredder but it runs $150.00. Can anyone suggest a good tobacco shredder that costs less?
Thank you.

I have been using Fresh Choice now for about 4 months. I like their tobacco, their gold (shredded) or blue (leaf) is quite good. My wife finds it to be comparable to Winston or Marlboro. Their quality is top notch as I have never had an issue with their tobacco. They have an excellent customer service that is willing to help you and is very knowledgeable.

I was using their Gold and Green (menthol, as I am a menthol smoker) shredded tobacco and decided to switch to shredding my own. Like you I didn't want to spend $150 on a shredder so I used the following:
My Ninja Margarita blender....I put the tobacco in to the Ninja (it has very, very sharp blades that go almost to the top) and pulsed it a few times. It worked well for shredding tobacco. (can be bought at Walmart for around 20 bucks)
Hand Cranked Pasta Maker....You can shred tobacco using one of these by running the leafs through the spaghetti cycle and then through the zitti cycle. You can pick one of these up at Walmart I believe. You can see how it works here [link]
Paper Shredder....This works well as long as it is not a "criss-cross" shredder. Just run the leaves through and dump out of the bucket. You can get a shredder a lot cheaper and it will do the same thing as the Fresh Choice Shredder, just not as pretty.- Re: Tobacco Stips: Fresh Choice

It's actually called "Crosscut" not "Criss-Cross" my bad. Anyway a Crosscut would actually work. I use an old strip cut shredder which works well but, looking at a Crosscut, it should work just as well if not better. Hope this helps.
