I was looking to see if a handheld machine was worth buying for convenience since I already have a crank and I saw this site. I do love forums. Looks like this is a "necro" thread, but there was a recent post so...

TBH, I had not heard of any of those brands but this the house brand at Smoker's Outlet [link] was recommended to me on a unrelated site. I have not tried it, but at $7.04/lb [its 7.04/12oz, i.e. 9.38/lb] it'd have to be real bad not to be worth buying.

Have you tried Rave? I only smoke ultralight and am presently smoking Rave ultralight, although I also tried the Rave menthol ultralight and found it to be quite tasty. It should be priced similar to the brands you specified. As a matter of fact, Rave can be purchased from Kentucky Cigarettes for only $11.95 a pound;

They carry all flavors of Rave, including FF, Light, Menthol, Menthol Light and Ultralight. The only caveat to ordering from them is they don't do online electronic payments. You have to mail a money order to them for your order. I haven't ordered from them, but I do like the Rave and this company has the cheapest price amongst all I have checked so far. Lil' Brown carries Rave in Full, Light and Menthol, but it costs $12.85 per pound with them.
