Marlboro Virginia Blend

A co-worker insisted I try one of these things today, so I figured "why not." It's certainly a nice looking pack, and apparently comes at a premium price (he said he thought they were about 40 cents a pack higher than the Marlboro Lights he normally gets at the same store).
Anyway, they're billed as Marlboro's "only single-leaf blend." I could certainly taste the Virginia tobacco; it had the usual sweetish taste and a mild aroma. But after a couple of drags, there was no mistaking it for a Windsail Platinum or even a Sagamore Virginia. The old pre-made taste began creeping in (chemicals? fillers? recon?) and started to overpower the mild flavour of the Virginia.
But to me, it beats the hell out of a redtop or a Marlboro Light. Still, no way would I give up the Supermatic for these....

I wish someone would offer me one, I'd like to try them but not bad enough to pay $7.25 a package for them.

Well I broke down and bought a pack of these after work. After the first couple of puffs it was definately downhill. Absolutely perfumey, like the stick had been spritzed with CK Eternity or Polo sport or some other kind of toilet water. I went running back to my sagamore virginia and gave gave the rest of the pack to a friend that smokes Marlboro.

Odd...I didn't detect anything nearly as peculiar as that. I was kinda disappointed in the usual premade taste that began creeping in after about half the stick, ruining what was otherwise a pretty decent attempt at a Virginia manufactured smoke; but that was about it.

I did notice, after visiting the friend's house tonight who gave it to me, that the usual pre-made reek wasn't quite as bad as it used to be when he was huffing those redtops and lights.... I'm sure not switching back either, however.- Re: Marlboro Virginia Blend

The person I gave them to didn't notice it either. May have been just because it was the first stick out of a newly opened package. The person I gave them to thought they were tasty but a little too mild.

i'm a dedicated american spirit smoker, but got curious with new marby's. i was surprised when i didn't get the usual gross first taste i get with reds or other marlboros. they're pretty nice and light, smooth, and not too heavy on the lungs. i was also able to smoke a lot of them last night at a party, when usually i have a limit to smokes as they make me feel a bit sick after a lot of them. i'd say these are some of the better smokes marlboro has put out.
