Please forgive this drunken thought...but thanks for being a new poster and not behaving like an a$$wipe. It's not like I own this forum, but seriously, this shit has gotten out of hand.- Re: Farmers Gold

My last post should be erased, when I'm sober I'll figure out where that post of mine should go.
P.S. You assholes know who you are!- Re: Farmers Gold

actually, I've been here just long enough to be able to say, Matt does own stock in the company

but the reason of my post is just to get back to what it's about and say that Farmers Golden Leaf (if it's in any way related) and Golden Harvest (the most personally disliked I've had) were the 2 bad ones.....BUT, somebody else might like them, I just didn't
right on Matt- Re: Farmers Gold

I hope I haven't ruffled any feathers here. I am a new poster to these boards and have learned much about SYO for the last two weeks using these forums. I attempted to make it clear that I was only discussing my personal preferences with the phrase "To me." I do hope that none who presently or might in the future read my post regarding Farmer's Gold take my word as any sort of gospel on the subject. I wholeheartedly agree that everyone's taste is different, so one's man trash is oftentimes the treasure of another. I would still go so far as to say that Farmer's Gold ultralight is a definite step up from the discount premades, in my opinion.

But then, what do I know? I have only been SYO for two weeks.- Re: Farmers Gold

Don't worry about ruffling anyone's feathers. Post what you know, and tell it like it is.

While I've never tried the FG, I'm almost certain that you're correct...the nasty swill being passed off as third tier and lower pre-mades is some seriously vile stuff.
Welcome, in any event.- Re: Farmers Gold

Thanks so much for the welcome. You will never know how thankful I am this board exists. Although I did originally look into SYO with the idea of possibly reducing costs, I have quickly learned it is all about the taste. (Well, ok, it's also about the ability to create an infinite number of blends instantly as well.) The choices in ultralight rolling tobaccos are somewhat limited. Yet, I had to try many of the more widely available ultralight tobaccos, including Farmer's Gold, Golden Harvest, Rave, Gambler & Stokers #2, which is my favorite so far. I am to the point where my personal rule will be to never spend less than $15 a pound. (I do go back and forth on Rave, which is less than $15 a pound. I rather like Rave.) In spite of that, the ultralights I have so far sampled are all better than the ultralight premades I previously smoked, including Marathon (truly nasty), Pall Mall & Doral.

I have even stepped into some menthol light tobaccos, to mix into my ultralight blends, in spite of the fact I only smoked menthol lights for 3 of the past 27 years. I will shut up now to avoid straying way off topic here.

Matt was thanking you for just doing what is expected
i was too
having different opinions about tobacco is an ancient art here and is acceptable.....
pardon me, but I kinda used the tobacco to slip in and agree with him, I've already stated my dislike of those brands long ago
you're fine
When people are "newbies" (for want of another term) to the forum, or even lurkers who "uncloak", it just doesn't seem appropriate (really) to suddenly take place in fights..(simply for fights sake, which was a perception recently, or especially if you are insane and need help)..(the truth really, my loud opinion in full view)....if you want to get away with that to a more successful degree, be someone we interact with on any kind of regular basis.- Re: Farmers Gold

Heehee! I DO NOT want to step into fights, most especially regarding opinions of taste! To fully understand my opinions on that, look here:

I do hope to interact here on a regular basis. I have learned SO MUCH from combing these forums as a newbie to SYO. I hope to eventually post on everything I have purchased so far, provided I have used them for a long enough time. For instance, I don't really notice odd aftertastes until I have smoked a brand for a 24 hour period. That's hard for me to do right now. Although I stuff roughly a pack a day, throughout the day I decide I want one of this brand or one of another and pack a single stick in the hand injector, so have yet to consistently smoke a single brand in a 24 hour period. I am still in 'oh the choices' heaven phase!- Re: Farmers Gold

looks like sometimes comments that wander off into generality sometimes get taken personally, as was the case with me and Freddie, by accident.
The only part of my post dircetly to you was "hello, you are doing fine, welcome welcome"
please don't aspire to fighting...leave that to me....(hehe)

After reading this I have to wonder; is this an open forum or some kind of Elks club? It's starting to look a bit like kind of an exclusive sandbox.
